Baldwin Piano available 2024

I’ve been familiar with this instrument for sixty years, it was our family's piano. It was tuned and cared for routinely. It is now fully restored and refinished and its tone is astounding. No doubt this is the finest Baldwin I‘ve ever played. It has a number of high-end features I have not seen in any other Baldwin.

The pinblock is mortised into the piano’s frame, a costly detail only found in Steinway and Mason and Hamlin pianos. The key assembly (known as the “action”) was built by Schwander, the action maker for the high-end German pianos. It’s also the only Schwander action I've seen that uses metal rails instead of wood to secure all the parts.

The tone is very big and could be described as “live”. Notice the finish; There is a very rich, warm color to the wood which would be very hard to duplicate today. The pinblock, felts, hammers, bass hammer shanks, key and damper bushings and strings are all new, the black keys are the original ebony.

Price $16,800.00

Steinway Grand For Sale (Photo coming soon)

It will be very hard to part with this instrument. It’s a Steinway model “A” (6’2”). It was delivered to the MacMiller estate in Iron River in 1908. The finish is the classic Steinway banded mahogany that has the remarkable “grain flipping” effect. If you stand to the left you see the light and dark bands in the wood, as you walk to the right the light and dark completely switch places. Restoration will begin in the summer of 2023.

Kimball Piano available 2024

As with the Baldwin, the minute you play this piano you’ll be amazed. However, its larger size (6 foot 4 inches) has a depth of tone larger concert instruments have, especially in the bass. This is in part due to the very high tension the strings are set at. This “high tension scale” is a major selling point for today’s top pianos. Another unusual (and expensive) feature is a full perimeter plate, where the cast iron frame goes around the entire soundboard. The finish is a rock hard semi gloss ebony. The pinblock, felts, hammers, key and damper bushings and strings are all new, the black keys are the original ebony. The bench and the pedal lyre have an attractive fluted column motif.

Price $25.000. Perfect for a larger church or auditorium

The “Little wonder”

One of the most unusual pianos I've seen. It’s an adorable tiny baby grand. It’s just under three feet eleven inches square. It’s perfect for a cabin or a tight space. The high gloss black finish and bright brass hardware make it eye-catching. The decal above the keys was “Little Wonder”. I could not find that decal, so anything could be put there, your name or “Gone fishing”! It has a six octave keyboard. keyboard.
The little Wonder has new keytops, pinblock and strings.
